Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway to promote Harwich as a gateway to the continent. Illustrated with a variety of different continental flags. Artwork by Austin Cooper (1890 -1964). The artist was born in Manitoba, Canada and studied art in Cardiff, Wales. Cooper commenced his career as a commercial artist in Montreal, but returned to London in 1922 to design posters for the LNER, Indian State Railways and London Transport.
