Lonely Cyril the Lighthouse Tomcat gets his bride by Helicopter

Lonely Cyril the Lighthouse Tomcat gets his bride by Helicopter. Cyril the lighthouse cat was restless. Four bachelor months at South Bishop, in St. Georges channel, were beginning to tell. Night after night he paced the lighthouse tower, sanding out his mating call across the six miles of sea which separates the lighthouse from the Welsh mainland. Lighthouse keepers Dermot Cronin, George Doyle and Bob Collis - bachelors themselves - decided that the time for action had come. Out went ans Os to the Fleet Air Arm base at Brawdy, Pembrokeshire. The station told the RSPCA and chief Inspector Archie Smith set out to find Cyril a bride. He found one in a village post office. Later snug in wicker basket, she was winched 50 ft. down to the lighthouse by a helicopter on its weekly mail run. Said a spokesman at Brawdy: " We could not ignore such an appeal for help". EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we witness the heartwarming tale of Lonely Cyril the Lighthouse Tomcat and his extraordinary journey to find love. Cyril, a restless feline residing at South Bishop in St. Georges channel, had been longing for companionship after spending four solitary months as a bachelor. Unable to bear witness to Cyril's melancholy any longer, lighthouse keepers Dermot Cronin, George Doyle, and Bob Collis took matters into their own hands. They sought assistance from the Fleet Air Arm base at Brawdy in Pembrokeshire. The Royal Navy station promptly informed Chief Inspector Archie Smith of the RSPCA about Cyril's plight. Determined to help Cyril find his bride, Inspector Smith scoured a nearby village post office and discovered a suitable match for our lonely tomcat. With great care and excitement mounting in the air, Cyril's potential mate was snugly placed inside a wicker basket. The momentous occasion arrived when an awe-inspiring helicopter descended upon the lighthouse during its weekly mail run. Suspended by cables 50 feet above ground level, Cyril's future bride was gently lowered down towards him with utmost precision. This remarkable act of compassion displayed by all involved parties showcases humanity's willingness to go above and beyond for those in need - even if they happen to be furry creatures seeking love. The year was April 1969 when this enchanting event unfolded before our eyes; forever captured within this timeless photograph that reminds us of the power of love and friendship across species boundaries.
