The poster was created in 1929 by Norman Wilkinson for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail travel to this historic site. Rhuddlan Castle has a rich and tumultuous history dating back to the 11th century. It witnessed numerous conflicts between Wales and England before ultimately falling under English rule. It is part of a series designed by Wilkinson for various railway companies such as London & North Western Railway (LNWR), London & Midlands Railway (LMR), and Southern Railway (SR).
