The image showcases Lieutenant-Admiral Michiel de Ruyter leading his Dutch fleet as they launch a successful attack on Chatham, England's main naval base. The raid began with the bombardment and capture of Sheerness before sailing up the River Thames to Gravesend and finally reaching Chatham.
