Poster produced for London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail travel to Whitby, North Yorkshire. The poster shows a white-haired man and young boy holding a model ship standing on the harbourside, with Abbey harbourside in the background. Artwork by Austin Cooper, a Canadian who studied art in Cardiff and Arbroath. He began his career as a commercial artist in Montreal, but returned to London in 1922 and designed posters for LNER, Indian State Railways and London Transport.
