Operated by the Great Indian Peninsula Railway, this iconic mode of transportation symbolized progress and connectivity during its time. The Great Indian Peninsula Railway was established on August 1st, 1849 through an act of the British Parliament. Shortly after, it entered into a contract with the East India Company to construct and operate railway lines across the country. This particular image showcases one such line in all its glory. The vibrant colors and intricate details depicted in this print bring to life a bygone era where steam trains ruled the tracks.
